Hi, Friends! Welcome to our website, Making Mountain Memories! We’re a family of four, living in the high altitude, and loving every minute of it. Not only are we able to enjoy the beautiful views God has blessed us with, but we also have each other. For us, that is enough. It is more than enough.
The Mister and I have been married for 12 years, the same amount of time I’ve taught in the public school system. He’s also a teacher. Until this year, that’s what we did. Teach. While we’re both still teaching, our roles look a little different than they used to. I’m homeschooling our kiddos this year. The girl (P) is eight and is the sweetest social butterfly you ever did see. You’ll be seeing much of her as we link to her new YouTube channel in our posts. The boy (C) is four, and the kindest mini-tornado you’ll ever meet. Together, we make up the peeps behind PERFECT CHAOS.
The Point of Blogging
Of course, there’s more behind the idea of blogging. Let me give you the nuggets. Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, right? Well, life has given us an opportunity for me to be able to stay at home with our littles. We’re going to make the most of it. I’m in the business of creating a place for us to log our memories, as well as try to earn some additional cash for our bank accounts. Stay tuned to see what I have up my sleeve. (I’m hoping it’s an ace – or two!)
No doubt there will be several unforeseen challenges that face us during this time, but we’re together, and that’s what matters. One of the biggest hurdles is for us to learn how to comfortably live on one income, the hubs’ teaching salary. Also, will I be able to be at home all day long with these two and not lose what’s left of my mind? Time will tell. I bet I’ll learn to value my adult friends more than ever – if only for a five-minute, non-child, chat.
There has to be a plan, right? One can’t just decide to stay home and live off of one income! I mean, maybe some folks can. I’m not like ‘some folks’, though. In fact, I am a go-getter and can’t think about sitting at home and not trying to supplement our income. It gives me anxiety. I’m clammy just thinking about it. We knew when we made the decision to home school that it was the best one for our family. I’ve wanted to try out homeschooling before we even had the girl. We’re here now, and I’m all about trying to keep us out of having to live paycheck to paycheck. (I’m not saying that’s the case; I just don’t want us to end there.)
If you scope out more of my blog posts, you’ll see a variety of things. You will read about how things are going with our schooling, what we’re up to, what we’re experimenting with, etc. I’ll be linking to YouTube, as the girl is beginning her very own channel. Also in that mix, you’ll read some posts about what I’m doing at home to help out on the financial realm. I’ll also be dabbling into affiliate marketing and doing some reviews and such on that end of online marketing. You’re going to want to tune in to any and all that you’re interested in. At the end of the day, I want to share my (our) successes with you, and help you become successful, too.
I can guarantee you – there is no one out there who wants to be a successful stay at home mom/home school mom / online business marketer/blogger than ME, Captain of our Chaos. I have spent the past several weeks researching all the different options the online platform can conjure up for gals like me who want to contribute to financial freedom for my family. What I’ve found so far makes me very excited. I want to be the first to share it with you. Do you want to know what I’ve found out? What I’m up to? I’m currently creating a foundation to hopefully create an online business – through blogging and affiliate marketing.
Are you wondering what my secret is? It’s not a secret at all! I want to share it with you. As mentioned above, I’ll be blogging regularly about my ideas and what I’m doing behind the scenes. For now, I’ll leave you with this, a bit to read and give you some ideas! Don’t be afraid to read all you can about the non-secretive way I’m bringing income into our vault, or rather, the potential of it. (**Disclaimer** You may see some duplicate information between this website and the one I linked you to. Don’t be mad. I just want to be transparent!) Be a part of both websites! You’ll learn even more then! I’ll be adding to both on a regular basis.
My favorite, Dr. Seuss once said, “And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! 98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed!”
If you have any questions ever, please ask. Also, if you would like, leave a comment and let me know what kind of work you’re doing from home to help with the finances and raising a family. Perhaps you home school! I’d love to hear about that, too! Are you a blogger? Leave your website (it’s free traffic)! Visit often! We’ll be doing a lot of memory-making and sharing, and we welcome you to join us!
Live Your Best Life!
